Last week when Denis Siver dropped out of UFC 199, Cole Miller didn’t hesitate on taking a short-notice fight with BJ Penn. He actually believes the short-notice is more of advantage to him than it is to Penn:

I think it’s better for me, to be honest, Miller told the Anik Florian Podcast. I kind of wish these guys would call me up on two weeks’ notice every single time – when you got a guy like me who doesn’t care about just being a winner.

All I do is train my martial arts and try to be a well-rounded fighter, and I go in there – these guys have eight to 12 weeks training specifically for me, and they get five or six training partners because they can’t find one guy who is 6-feet tall at 145 (pounds) who’s got my skills. I wish they would always call me up on short notice.
