An impromptu fight pitting UFC veteran Mike Perry vs Julian Lane broke out near the announce desk during Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship’s event in Tampa, Fla. on Thursday night.

The incident took place as Perry was taking part in guest commentary during the promotion’s latest event. “Platinum” officially signed with BKFC in October, but has not yet competed for the organization. And it seems Lane, a seven-fight veteran of the fast-growing promotion, saw fit to push his name to the front of the line as a Perry opponent candidate.

BKFC posted on their Instagram a clip of how it all started. As Perry was sitting at the announce desk and speaking with fellow UFC veteran, and current BKFC analyst Chris Lytle. What looked to be an event flier comes flying into the picture and hit the Michigan native in the face. Lane can then be heard yelling, “What’s up platinum p***y?”

Perry, 30, seemed calm at first, but surely Lane was further instigating an altercation off-screen, to the point where Perry had enough. Eventually dropping his headset to go after the two-time The Ultimate Fighter alum.

MMAJunkie posted a video from a fan’s camera phone showing the duo brawl in the stands. BKFC officials were then forced to jump in and break up the unexpected melee. The group trying to bring order to the fracas included BKFC President David Feldman.

Once the pair were separated, Lane can be seen saying, “He hit me,” in a poor attempt to try and defend an incident he started.

“Nitrane” has grown to fame in combat sports circles for the, “Let me bang bro,” quote he made famous during his first stint on TUF in 2012. He has grown his status as a member of the BKFC for moments just like this, where he instigates melees, with current or possible opponents, at events and weigh-ins.

Perry last competed for Triller under their Triad Combat banner in November. He was victorious in his promotional debut, beating Michael Seals by split-decision in a mixed rules matchup.

Is a fight between Perry and Lane something you hope to see in BKFC or Triad Combat?
