Mike Kyle has been forced to pull out of next week’s fight against Gegard Mousasi due to a broken hand suffered in training, Strikeforce director of communications Mike Afromowitz confirmed with MMA Fighting.
Strikeforce is currently looking for a replacement to fight Mousasi, but the organization has yet to sign anyone .
Kyle (18-8-1, 1 NC) broke his right hand in a December loss to Antonio Silva. The loss snapped Kyle’s six-fight undefeated streak.
Striker Cheick Kongo was rumored as a replacement, but that proved to be an April Fools joke:
Strikeforce’s PR guy Mike Afromowitz just told me that the Kongo vs. Mousasi match-up report is “not true.”
Apparently an April Fool’s prank RT @CageInformerJY Then how’d it end up on Cheick’s official FB page?
