Michelle Waterson suffers broken hand
Karate Hottie breaks 2nd metacarpal

UFC women’s strawweight Michelle ‘The Karate Hottie’ Waterson has had a tough run in the UFC, after signing in April of 2015.
She had a successful debut at the TUF 21 Finale in July of 2015, tapping Angela Magana. Then Waterson suffered a knee injury, and dropped out of a fight with Tecia Torres at UFC 194 late in the year.
Now recovered from knee surgery, Waterson was scheduled to fight Aisling Daly at UFC Fight Night 93 on September 3, 2016 at Barclaycard Arena in Hamburg, Germany. Unfortunately, Daly pulled out of the fight with an injury.
Before a new opponent could be named, Waterson herself was hurt. The fighter made the announcement via Instagram.
“So this happened on Thursday morning,” she wrote. “The fact that I’m so close to the fight and this s*** happened just really pisses me off. I know my will is being tested, and I will push forward. My fight has definitely not been fought in the cage this last year, trust me when I say I will be better for it all……. but Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh. That is all.”
There is no way to complete the final month of a camp with a badly broken hand, so although there has been no official word from the UFC, The Karate Hottie is undoubtedly out of UFC Fight Night Hamburg.
UFN 92 now has 11 fights scheduled:
Andrei Arlovski vs. Josh Barnett
Alexander Gustafsson vs. Jan Błachowicz
Ryan Bader vs. Ilir Latifi
Nick Hein vs. Tae Hyun Bang
Peter Sobotta vs. Nicolas Dalby
Jarjis Danho vs. Christian Colombo
Scott Askham vs. Jack Hermansson
Rustam Khabilov vs. Leandro Silva
Germaine de Randamie vs. Ashlee Evans-Smith
Taylor Lapilus vs. Leandro Issa
Jessin Ayari vs. Jim Wallhead
It is the miserable state of the sport that there will be more changes to come.
