Michael Bisping: I ‘quite fancy’ a fight with Chael Sonnen

Michael Bisping was interviewed by Ariel Helwani immediately following his second round victory over Jorge Rivera at UFC 128.about rumors that The Count may face the Anderson Silva of trash talking, Chael Sonnen, this Summer in the UK. Bisping replied “Go from one guy talking s— about me straight to another one? I dont think I could handle it. I think I’ve burst enough bloood vessels this weekend. Ya you know what I mean?”

That naturally set off a drum beat of insults from Sonnen. First he emailed UFC matchmaker Joe Silva.

If you get a chance to talk with him, please mention to your idiot-in-residence Michael Spitsbing it’ll be a little tougher to knee ME in the head when I’m charging at him like a runaway train and mincing him through the fence like a boiled potato, should we ever have the pleasure of each other’s company for a few (VERY few) moments in the Octagon.

Then Sonnwn demanded a public apology from The Count.

Spitting on Jorge Riviera’s cornermen brought disgrace to himself, to the sport, and to all fighters, me included. That’s why, first and foremost, Michael Bisping owes ME an apology.

I happen to know, from one of my very highly-placed sources at the UFC, that Michael Bisping’s ‘goodwill account’ is seriously overdrawn with the company. He’s on very thin ice wearing really sharp skates, if you know what I mean. So, there are only TWO possible outcomes for him: He can fight ME, or he can get released.

Then Sonnen called The Count a stupid meth head.

Hey, stupid. When they are teaching you how to box, “cutting off the ring,” doesn’t mean taking jewelry off a corpse.

When your coach tells you to hit the “speed bag,” he’s not telling you grab your ballon of meth, you tweaker.

Now Gareth Davies, the leading MMA journalist in Britain, is reporting that Bisping wants in.

Bisping-Sonnen is not just great fight – but a great event

If both parties are game, only one obstacle remains … Dana White. White was recently interviewed about the possible match up and said “what we did with Chael Sonnen is – I talked to Chael Sonnen. Chael Sonnen said, ‘If I don’t fight for the UFC, I don’t want to fight anywhere else. So, if you could NOT cut me…”

At this point interviewer Ariel Helwani cut in askin g if Sonnen was in danger of being cut for his guilty plea in a real estate fraud/money laundering case, which came on the heels of his NSAC hearing on testing positive for PEDs.”Yeah,” White replied. “We basically freeze your contract. Your contract is frozen until you get your personal life together.”

White was then asked when Sonnen would return to the Octagon? “I don’t know,” White replied. “He’s still got that hearing coming up in April, so we’ll see what happens.”

Finally White was asked about a match up between Chale Sonnen and Michael Bisping. “Bad guy vs. bad guy? I don’t know” White replied. “Chael’s got some things he needs to handle before he should think about fighting anybody.”
