As reported by Michael Stets for MMAMania, you can only see it online – there will be no audience, and not even media present. The event will be competitors, coaches, and officials only, with a minimal number even of staff present.
The reason is apparently to try new camera angles and options that would not be available if filming was in a regular arena.
“We are experimenting with a more intimate setting for our athletes in their participation and focusing our resources on the pay-per-view experience for fans worldwide,” said founder Ralek Gracie to MMAFighting.com.
UFC lightweight Joe Lauzon said he is not even permitted to post a video blog from the event.
