Matt Bull: First off, you have a fight coming up with Joe Lauzon at UFC 136 in Houston, have you started your training camp? And if so, how is it going?

Melvin Guillard: It’s going great the usual eat, sleep, play black ops and train routine I do 3-4 workouts thru out the day.

MB: Regarding your match up with Lauzon, nothing against Joe he is a very talented fighter, but with your winning streak and the quality of opponents you’ve beaten were you looking for a more signifigant fighter to face to continue your rise towards the UFC lightweight title?

MG: I never turned down a fight that has been brought to my attention whoever the UFC ask me to fight I do there is no saying no to Dana and Silva.

MB: You’ve seen alot of up’s and downs in your career, and as of late more up’s than down’s explain to our fans what was the main cause of the trasformation from the young, brash and cocky fighter we met on “The Ultimate Fighter” to the humble, respectful and exciting fighter you are today.

MG: Well I was young and immature, since then I grown and with the support of my wife she has helped in the process.

MB: I’m gonna give you a word or a phrase and you tell me the VERY FIRST thing that pops into your head.

Greg Jackson:

‘a wizard’

Joe Lauzon:

‘is DEAD!!’

The Joe Stevenson ordeal:

‘it sucks’

The UFC Lightweight Championship:
