Viking can’t catch a break in Ontario.

First, Norway’s Emil ‘Valhalla’ Meek couldn’t bring his trademark axe to the UFC media event and was told he couldn’t walk out with it, either.

Now the Ontario Athletic Commission, which is notorious for strict adherence to unusual rules, says he has to shave off his beard in order to fight Jordan Mein at UFC 206.

Ontario AC rules are strict on appearance:
All contestants shall be cleanly shaven immediately prior to competition, except that a contestant may wear a closely cropped mustache.

So, porn stache is cool. But fighting with a beard is … dangerous?

The announcement came via the fighter’s Instagram account, which you should FOLLOW!

Meek, 28, is on a three-fight win streak, including most recently a smashing of the frightening Rousimar Palhares. His fight with Mein was originally scheduled for the undercard, but moved up the main card when the Daniel Cormier vs. Anthony Johnson fight was scrapped.
