Some of the greatest figures in combat sports history have appeared at WrestleMania, including Muhammad Ali, Floyd Mayweather, Ronda Rousey, and Mike Tyson.

The Greatest was the special guest referee at WrestleMania 1. At WrestleMania 14 Tyson knocked out Shawn Michaels, and kicked off the attitude era. At WrestleMania 31, Rousey and The Rock destroyed Triple H and Stephanie McMahon. And at WrestleMania 24 Mayweather wore MMA gloves, and eventually a foreign object; he ended up knocking out Big Show (real name Big Banter).

Mayweather was reportedly paid $20,000,000. Recently the WWE came calling for the biggest active star in combat sports today (check PPV figures) UFC lightweight champion Conor McGregor. Notorious is a fan of WWE owner Vince McMahon, referring to him as “adon and jacking his swagger, literally.

Barry Moran for England’s The Sun reports that the WWE wanted McGregor for this year’s WrestleMania in April, and told his camp, “Name your price.” However, McGregor reportedly refused the offer.

WWE has made no secret of its desire to do something with Conor McGregor and there were talks between the two parties about this year,” said a source. Because he’s taking time off from the UFC, there was a talk about doing something at this year’s Wrestlemania in April, but it wasn’t to be despite a hefty offer.

McGregor is taking time off until May when he and longtime partner Dee Devlin expect their first child. The sole content he has expressed interest in is a boxing match with Mayweather.
