UFC featherweight champion Conor McGregor stars in the new Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare

” target=”_blank”>Conor McGregor has announced he has been cast to play a character in “Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare.” Kit Harington, who plays Jon Snow on “Game of Thrones,” will also appear in the latest version of the ten billion dollar franchise.

Although some scenes have already been shot, there is no word on McGregor’s character. Harington will play the leader of a wicked organization known as the Settlement Defense Front (SDF).

McGregor is the pay per view television leader in the history of the UFC, with his last three fights breaking the 1,000,000 buys mark. “Call of Duty” is the Conor McGregor of, well, everything.

The two highest opening movie opening weekends of all-time were Star Wars Ep. VII: The Force Awakens ($248,000,000 and Jurassic World $208,000,000). By contrast, last year’s Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 premier made $550,000,000 in the first three days. That is bigger than both movie leaders combined. Call of Duty Black Ops 2 was more successful still, making $500 million in 24 hours.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 was the sixth consecutive Call of Duty game to break the $1,000,000,000 mark.

Earlier this year, McGregor had been scheduled to star alongside Hollywood stars Vin Diesel and Samuel L Jackson in the latest version of the xXx franchise: ‘xXx: The Return of Xander Cage.’ However, the fighter pulled out in order to focus on his rematch with Nate Diaz. The fight preparation proved to be successful. And now, while a number of top fighters in mixed martial arts have successfully sought roles in movies, McGregor is looking at the next level.

The role also casts light on a controversial Instagram post McGregor recently made, in which he appears to be holding a machine gun.

The Mirror referred to “Fan Outrage.” The Daily Mirror said he was “causing controversy.”

There was over 10,000 fan comments, very many of them unintentionally hilarious, accusing him, for example, of posing with a fake gun.

Relax fans, it’s only a game.

Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare releases on November 4 for PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
