Back in December, the UFC interim featherweight champion Conor McGregor was hit with a surprise question by Australia-based TMZ reporter Charlie Cotton, about fighting Jesus. Conor replied with tongue in cheek.

“Me … versus … Jesus … in … the … Octagon?” McGregor repeated, smiling. “How would me vs Jesus… I tell you what, there’s not a man alive that can beat me. But Jesus ain’t alive is he, so I don’t f—ing know. Maybe he can come back from the dead. I don’t know. I’d still whoop his ass.”

However, the story was spun in many places as if Conor was actually, seriously predicting the outcome of a fight with Jesus of Nazareth. A number of fighters reacted negatively on social networks, including Rafael dos Anjos and Wanderlei Silva. So ‘Notorious’ was not impressed.

The same reporter earlier today tried to button McGregor again, this time with a leading question about whether his trash talk comments about Nate Diaz were racially tinged.

I honestly like Nick’s little brother, McGregor had said. How can you not like him? He’s like a little Cholo from the hood. But at the same time, he coaches kid’s jiu-jitsu on a Sunday morning and goes on bike rides with the elderly. He makes gang signs with the right hand and balloon animals with the left hand.

The term Cholo is not widely considered to be a racial slur, and there is zero indication McGregor intended for it to be. So the fighter replied bluntly.

“Mate, shut the f*** up, will ya,” said McGregor. “Remember that Jesus s*** you brought up? Such a stupid question. You’re an idiot.”

Featherweight champion Conor McGregor, who had planned for a lightweight title with Rafael Dos Anjos will now move up to welterweight for a non-title fight with Nate Diaz on March 5 at UFC 196 in Las Vegas, Nevada.
