McGregor says he’ll make over $7M for UFC 189
Conor McGregor is in his first PPV main event and he claims he will make over seven million dollars for his fight at UFC 189 versus Jose Aldo.
What the UFC pays it’s fighters is a bit public and a bit private. Some athletic commissions disclose fight purses, but it is known that some fighters receive ‘locker room’ bonuses and some a cut of PPV sales. Conor McGregor is in his first PPV main event and he claims he will make over seven million dollars for the fight:
“Money-wise? (I will make) more than the gate. I will make a hell of a lot of money. I am on the PPV now. I get a PPV cut. I will make 3 times more than Jose, and that is still not fair.”
“(Ronda Rousey’s) PPV numbers are phenomenal, but I will, at least, triple it. Easily (over a million buys), I believe it breaks all records. Everything I do smashes records. Everything I touch turns to gold.”
