After becoming the first fighter to hold two UFC belts simultaneously on Saturday night, Conor McGregor expressed a couple of wishes. He wanted to take some time off for the birth of his first child in May. And before he fought again, he wanted equity in the company.
Then rumors floated that the fight he wanted next was a boxing match with Floyd Mayweather. That set off a round of trash talk including Mayweather vs. McGregor, McGregor vs, Mayweather, and UFC president Dana White vs. Mayweather.
TMZ Sports has footage of McGregor on the mic at 1 Oak nightclub in New York City on Tuesday; ‘Notorious’ explained how much money it would take to get him in the boxing ring with ‘Money’ Mayweather.
“Much respect to Floyd,” began McGregor. “He’s a solid businessman on what he’s been able to do … he’s a f***ing animal at what he’s been able to do.
“But as far as real fighting … as far as true pure unarmed combat … Floyd don’t want none of this. He wants a boxing match, he doesn’t want a fight.
“I want a $100 million cash to fight him under boxing rules … he’s afraid of a real fight.”
Mayweather vs.Manny Pacquiao grossed a reported $500,000,000,. The fighters agreed to a 60-40 split in Mayweather’s favor, with Money making between $220 million and $230 million, and Pacquiao could wind up earning a little over $150 million. Thus McGregor’s figure is not complete crazy talk.
However, for the fight to happen, UFC president Dana White has to okay it, and so far, he is waiting for Floyd Mayweather to call him.
Hey Floyd, call Dana.
