Today the UFC held it’s normal press conference for UFC 202, which is generally scheduled on the Wednesday before a big PPV. The press conference usually goes off without incident, but has also had some famous moments. Jon Jones and Daniel Cormier was brawled at a press conference and once Brock Lesnar held his own press conference when he didn’t want to wait for the official one.

At today’s UFC 202 press conference, fireworks were almost expected between Conor McGregor and Nate Diaz. And sure enough, it started right off the bat when Conor McGregor was late. UFC President Dana White ripped McGregor for being unprofessional:

“So we are starting without him,” White said. “He has to start respecting peoples’ time, man. Mine, theirs, yours, David Copperfield’s — Everybody’s. We have only so much time in this room. Listen, we are having a press conference with the people who are here. If it’s over before he gets here then it’s over. Do you have any questions other than Conor being late?”

Of course, that was just the start of the antics. McGregor being thirty minutes last, started to answer questions, but then Nate Diaz decided he was done and just walked off the stage. He joined his camp and started to taunt McGregor from the crowd trying to get him to come down and fight, but McGregor just stayed put, hurling insults and objects back at them.

Diaz was escorted by security out of the arena and UFC President Dana White abruptly just ended the press conference.

McGregor and Diaz will share the same stage once more before they get locked in the Octagon to fight on Saturday, but it’s likely some increased security measures will be put in place for the UFC 202 weigh-in event.
