When the UFC announced it’s anti-doping policy run by the USADA, it was made clear that athletes would be subject to in-competition drug testing, but also random out of competition testing. The program was totally inclusive and athletes all over the world are tested, some more than others.
The USADA has revealed no strategy as to who is tested, why, or why more athletes are tested than others. They do however, reveal publicly how many times each athlete has been tested.
USADA keeps the database of tested athletes available on it’s website. In a recent episode of The Mac Life, McGregor showed his recent visit from USADA and also revealed that is was his fourteenth time being tested, which would put him amongst the most tested athletes in the organization.
McGregor posted a video on his ‘The Mac Life’ website showing the latest visit from USADA as they tested him ahead of UFC 202 and his rematch with Nate Diaz.
According to McGregor’s team, the Nevada State Athletic Commission also paid a separate visit to their Las Vegas compound a day earlier to test the reigning featherweight champion.
McGregor also proudly touts that with this latest visit that he’s been tested 14 times since the program began in 2015.
That number ties him with former women’s bantamweight champion Holly Holm as the most tested athletes on the UFC roster.
