McGregor: Is Aldo’s ‘shady ass’ getting tested in Brazil?
Conor McGregor: “I get tested constantly, it’s his shady ass that doesn’t get tested over there in Brazil. All this corruption is still over there.”
In June there was botched blood test of Jose Aldo in Brazil, that illustrated the challenges of testing a worldwide roster of fighters. Aldo was tested again the next day, and passed.
“I came back the next day and thank god it finally happened,” said Aldo as translated by Guilherme Cruz for MMAFighting.com. “I pissed again. This guy saw me more naked more than my wife. Man, two days in a row. But everything went fine.”
However, McGregor has not let that stop him from jabbing at Aldo over the incident. Aldo then injured his rib and McGregor fought Mendes for an interim title, setting up a huge fight on Dec. 12..
“I got tested,” said McGregor to Brazil’s Combate, as transcribed by Guilherme Cruz for MMAFighting.com. “I get tested constantly, it’s his shady ass that doesn’t get tested over there in Brazil. All this corruption is still over there. Some police officer from the gym arrested the guy who was taking the test. That is the shadiest shit I’ve ever heard in my life. So, I take the test, he doesn’t. Test his ass!”
Aldo recently took part in the GO BIG press conference in Las Vegas, and McGregor said he hoped that the champion got tested while he was in the US.
“He should’ve been tested right now, today or this whole period,” said the Irishman. “If he wasn’t, that’s disgraceful. We’ll see. I’ll ask if he was or was not tested.”
Although Aldo is undoubtedly getting tested as much as is McGregor, it is a great day for the sport when random, comprehensive, out of competition testing is so normal that it becomes the subject of trash talk.
