Nate Diaz is getting the better of the best talker in the UFC, featherweight champion Conor McGregor. At the UFC 202 press conference, Notorious showed up a not so fashionably 30 minutes late.
Then Diaz, having answered press questions, decided it was high time to leave. Then McGregor shouted bad words at the departing 209 community, and a game of dodge energy drink sponsor cans ensued.
An irate UFC president Dana White shut down the event before McGregor had finished saying his peace, upsetting the Irishman further.
During an open workout, McGregor’s Irish ire boiled over.
“F*** the Diaz brothers, yeah?” shouted McGregor, as transcribed by Thomas Myers for MMA Mania. “F*** those cockroaches! It’s a big fight — it always was. We came here ready for war, not ready throw little b**** bottles and go running. We’re here ready to fight, so let’s go…. That fairy tale that he’s having is coming to an end. So all of his little fans giving him the invincible feeling that he can’t be knocked out — he can be knocked out. And he will be knocked out. F*** team Diaz! And if you are down with team Diaz then f*** you, too!”
“My legacy is set in stone. My legacy was set in stone when Jose crumbled in 13 seconds. This is just something else outside of this. This is just a straight fight. So I’m happy with that because that’s what I came here for – I came in here for a straight fight.”
Conor McGregor fights Nate Diaz in the main event of UFC 202 on Saturday night.
