Floyd Mayweather’s life is a good news / bad news. In August he broke Rocky Marciano’s cursed record, defeating UFC lightweight champion Conor McGregor in a boxing match, making $300 million, and retired (again). That’s all good.
The bad news is he’s estimated to spend $75 million per year, and prior to MayMac lacked sufficient liquidity to cover $22 million IRS bill. And he’s 40. He surely doesn’t want to risk losing the Marciano record, which leaves a fight in the Octagon.
“If I want to, I can come right back to the UFC,” he said in December on an Instagram livestream. “I can do a three- or four-fight deal in the Octagon and make a billion dollars. Remember, I’m Floyd ‘Money’ Mayweather, and you motherf***ers love me, and I love you motherf***ers.
He recently teased fight fans on the Internet.
