Superstars Floyd Mayweather and Conor McGregor have been feuding since this past January over (initially) the former’s comments about racism in sports. They’ve since engaged in a war of words, but now it has become physical.
McGregor’s training partner and friend Artem Lobov took to Instagram a couple of hours ago to post a footage which shows the boxing superstar violently sucker punching the Irishman. According to onlookers present at the scene, Justin Bieber (a close friend of Mayweather) was on stage and had just finished performing his latest hit tune when he yelled Shout-out to the REAL champ! while pointing at McGregor.
Bieber actually showed support to McGregor after his loss against Nate Diaz, so it’s no surprise that the superstar singer had kind words to say to him. Well, Bieber’s gesture didn’t please Mayweather, to say the least. The boxing legend, probably fueled by his huge ego, immediately got on stage and yelled at the crowd: ‘What the f*ck?? That leprechaun mother**ker ain’t no champ!’, taunting McGregor. The Irishman, who had quite some shots of whiskey at this point, immediately threw his 20 000-dollar whiskey bottle at Mayweather, who barely managed to dodge it.
The whole club was watching the scene, baffled, and immediately took to social media to share the footage of the incident, which shows a wild scuffle ensuing. Security staff eventually managed to break up the fight between Mayweather and McGregor. But the two weren’t quite done just yet.
McGregor was the first out of the club. Both his entourage and Mayweather’s exchanged mean looks when the boxing star left the club too. There is a catch though… Just before leaving, Mayweather can be seen swarming at McGregor, OUT OF NOWHERE, and sucker punching him behind the neck. That’s right. The Irishman, of course, tried to retaliate but police, called at the moment the brawl in the club was going on, was already at the scene and prevented further escalation.
The altercation between the two superstars is the craziest one that ever happened in combat sports history. It is likely that McGregor will try to seek revenge in one way or another. In fact, UFC president Dana White has already expressed interest in a fight between the two at UFC 200. The ball is in Floyd Mayweather’s court now.
Disclaimer: The story above is purely FICTIONAL. None of the events depicted in the story above are true, or ever happened. Conor McGregor and Floyd Mayweather did NOT have an altercation outside of a Hollywood club and UFC president Dana White does NOT plan to book McGregor vs Mayweather at UFC 200. The story above is an April Fool’s joke.
