Mayor honors MMA gym
Albuquerque Mayor Richard Berry on Tuesday declared a day in honor of the Jackson/Winkeljohn Gym after the gym and a trainer were honored among the mixed martial arts community.
The gym, owned by Greg Jackson and Mike Winkeljohn, was named gym of the year at the World MMA Awards in Las Vegas, Nev., in December. Jackson was named MMA Trainer of the Year at the awards as well.
