Masvidal: Iaquinta ‘a boy and I’m a full-grown man’
Jorge Masvidal: “I’m looking at him like he’s a boy and I’m a full-grown man. Come April 4th, I’m going to show the world just what the f-ck I mean.”

Jorge Masvidal was hoping to fight a top ten ranked opponent next, but the UFC booked him versus up and comer Al Iaquinta. Masvidal had previously said the fight was ‘a few steps back’ for him, but regardless is ready to take on the scrappy Long Islander and believes the difference is that he’s a more grown, complete fighter:
Me and him ain’t the same, Masvidal said. He’s a new generation, and some time from now I’m sure he’ll be on the top, but me and him are different generations. I’m looking at him like he’s a boy and I’m a full-grown man. Come April 4th, I’m going to show the world just what the f-ck I mean.
While Masvidal has been openly critical toward the way the UFC has handled his career, he doesn’t allow those factors to overcome him. Everything can change with one fight in this sport, and Masvidal feels ready to deliver a performance that will get him everything he wants.
There’s always light at the end of the tunnel, Masvidal said. As long as I get to compete and do what I love to do, there’s always light at the end of the tunnel. I just want to get the biggest names possible. That’s why I get a little upset.
