Today members of the Massachusetts State Athletic Commission voted unanimously to approve KICK International to oversee and regulate amateur MMA in the commonwealth.

Without a separate sanctioning body amateur fights were previously not allowed.

KICK is a non-profit organization based in Missouri.

There are still three other organizations looking to oversee amateur regulations in Massachusetts. The commission will look to vote another one in in the next week and will let the local promoters see which organization runs best.
