Marina Shafir KOed by Amanda Bell
Marina Shafir was knocked out by Amanda Bell on Sunday night. Bell also knocked out Four Horsewomen teammate Jessamyn Duke in 2011 in an amateur bout.
Marina Shafir is a friend and roommate of Ronda Rousey, member of the Four Horsewomen, featherweight fighter, and former international class Judoka. Shafir started competing in MMA as an amateur in 2012, and turned pro earlier this year. She had planned to move to Invicta and challenge Cris Justino, or drop to the UFC’s 135 lb division.
However, you never know what is going to happen in mixed martial arts, which is why you have the fight. On Sunday night at Chaos at the Casino 5 in Los Angeles, Shafir was knocked out by Amanda Bell. Bell also knocked out Shafir’s Four Horsewomen teammate Jessamyn Duke in an amateur fight in 2011.
Bell went 5-1 as an amateur, with her last fight being the win over Duke, in 2011. She took a break, and stumbled when she resumed as a pro in 2013, starting 0-2. She got a win in April, and is now 2-2 as a pro.
