The MMA world has its problems, but if ever feel like you’re worrying about them too much, take a look at boxing.
Every fan would rather see Floyd Mayweather vs. Manny Pacquiao, than Floyd Mayweather vs. Miguel Cotto, again. In a recent interview, Mayweather was asked if the fans were being cheated by the lack of a fight with Pacquiao. Among the impediments cited by Mayweather was Pacquiao’s use of PEDs, as evidenced by a visibly enlarged head.
“So, you’re an American, right? I’m an American,” said Mayweather. “I was in the Olympics. I represented the red, white and blue. You know what the American writers should say? ‘Well, why is this guy from another country coming over here and making money [and] taking it back to his country?’ Once again, I’m feeding American citizens every day. All I ask is, give a little blood, give a little urine. That’s a crime?”
“Come on, it’s basic common sense now. Go back and look at the pictures. His head is small and then all of a sudden his head just grew? Come on man, stop this. Ray Charles can see this s—. Go back and look at the pictures and tell me this man’s head didn’t get bigger. You’re going to tell me this s— is all natural. Come on man, stop.”
Bob Arum offered the obvious explanation, citing a commercial for Hennessy that Manny appeared in.
“There is this actor who sort of looks like Manny,” explained Arum helpfully. “But you can’t really tell and they shoot it in a way that makes you think it’s a younger Manny, and he’s in a gym working out. Then it segues to a scene where it is Manny. So when Mayweather is talking about the size of the head, that’s got to be where he gets it. He’s seeing this commercial over and over and over in just about every NBA game that’s on television and we know he loves to watch basketball. He’s a basketball junkie. And yeah, there are two different-sized heads, but one’s an actor’s and the other’s is Manny’s.”
Scott Christ at Bad Left Hook put the theory to the test, with a series of images documenting Manny Pacquiao’s melon girth.

So we, and boxing, are left with some simple questions. Did Manny Pacquiao’s head get bigger? Was it because of PEDs? Is that why Mayweather and Pacquiao may never fight?
The answer of course is wild rabbit.
