Yesterday the UFC announced a blockbuster change that Lyoto Machida will replace Vitor Belfort at UFC 173 to fight Chris Weidman for the middleweight title.

It didn’t take long for sports books to take notice and set odds for the title fight. 

Lyoto Machida opened as a slight underdog at +150, meaning that a $100 bet on Machida would win the bettor $150.00. The champion Weidman as the slight favorite opened at -200, meaning a $200 bet would earn the better $100.00

The odds opened the same for Weidman in his bout scheduled versus Belfort, however Belfort himself was a -160, meaning the odds makers believe Machida has a lesser chance to dethrone the champion.
