Lyoto Machida lost to Chris Weidman Saturday night, but fought like a samurai in the fight of the night.

“That was the most important,” said Machida. “I sought to fight until the end. I believed until the last second that I could knock him out, he could win. But I did not this time, right? On to the next.”

“I think it surprised me a bit, that he came very aggressive. But he do not put me in danger any time, so to speak. And my first round was more to study, to see how he would do. But that’s okay.
