Kicking off the Fox Sports preliminaries for UFC 222 was a middleweight bout between Hector Lombard and CB Dollaway. The bout featured a competitive first round with an uncommon ending as Lombard landed a punch that floored Dollaway AFTER the bell had signaled the end of the round.

After the referee conferred with ringside commission officials, the bout was ruled a disqualification of Lombard awarding Dollaway the win:

Play-By-Play

Round 1 – Dollaway with a high kick that just misses. Lombard comes back a few low kicks that land. Dollaway trying to stay at distance and fires another high kick that’s blocked. Lombard rushes in and chops the leg again before Dollaway slips out and resets. Dollaway trying to use his length advantage and lands a big kick to the body, slipping the overhand that comes in reply. Jab lands for Dollaway. He kicks the body again. Lombard catches it but can’t quite score the counter. Dollaway shuffling on the outside. Lombard drops his hands and invites him forward. Dollaway knows better. He stays on the outside and fires another high kick. Front kick nearly touches the chin. Lombard with a few power hooks that just miss. Jab for Dollaway, and he slips the counter. Low kick for Lombard. He catches another kick but can’t quite counter. One minute left. Dollaway with a nice jab and the ducks to miss a counter that doesn’t come. Crowd getting a little restless, but Dollaway has to be precise. Another kick to the body. Another comes at the bell. Lombard lands a left hand after the bell, and Dollaway is floored. Referee Mark Smith brings the doctors in to take a look, not letting the corners into the cage. Doctor comes in to look, as well. NSAC executive director Bob Bennett is conferring, too. This fight is over.
