It’s a little too late for Colby Covington and Jorge Masvidal, but Logan Paul thinks there’s an easier way for MMA fighters to settle their differences than headlining a UFC pay-per-view.

“I absolutely think people from other combat sports could join slap fighting,” Paul said at a press conference promoting Saturday’s Slap Fighting Championship event in Ohio. “Everyone knows how to slap. It’s an easy way for MMA fighters, influencers, celebrities, and basically anyone who has an online beef to go settle these disputes without months of training.”

In a rather unexpected pairing of personalities, Paul and former California governor Arnold Schwarzenegger are partnering to promote Saturday’s slap fighting event, which stream’s live and free on Paul’s YouTube channel from The Arnold Sports Festival in Columbus.

Slap fighting has emerged in recent years as a bit of a viral sideshow, but Paul thinks it could actually carve out a niche in the combat sports landscape.

“To be able to legitimize a sport like slap fighting, that I think is up-and-coming, is awesome,” Paul said. :We have amazing athletes coming in from all over the world looking to put on a show.

“It might be crazy, but I really think there is something here.”
