Moments before the start of the event UFC heavyweight Derrick Lewis has been pulled from his main card fight vs. Fabricio Werdum. Lewis reportedly continued to suffer from back pain and tried to push through it but was unable to move this morning, and was in considerable pain.

In a display of mighty heart, heavyweight Walt Harris has stepped up from his fight with Mark Godbeer on the UFC Fight Pass Prelims, and will face Werdum. Godbeer is without an opponent, and will not fight, but will undoubtedly get his show money.

Francis Ngannou too offered to step up on hours notice, in yet another display of towering gameness.

UFC 216 now proceeds with 11 fights. Start time for the event moved up to 7:00 p.m. ET from 6:30.
