Brock Lesnar was granted an exemption by USADA for it’s rule that an athlete must be tested for four months prior to competing when returning from retirement.
Lesnar was granted exemption because he was a competitor in the UFC prior to it’s implementation of the USADA anti-doping policy.
Although exempt from that rule, once Lesnar signed his UFC contract he was subject to random out of competition drug testing. According to the USADA website, Lesnar has been tested five times in the past two weeks:
USADA must be trying to make up for lost time.
The UFC’s anti-doping partner has drug tested Brock Lesnar five times since his name was put in the program two weeks ago, according to the USADA website. UFC vice president of health and performance Jeff Novitzky confirmed with MMA Fighting on Monday that Lesnar had been tested at least three times.
“I’d expect there are even more to come as well before UFC 200,” Novitzky said.
The results of those tests have yet to come back.
