Just three weeks ago it was announced that Joe Lauzon would step up to fight Diego Sanchez on short notice at UFC 180. Lauzon was stepping in to replace Norman Parke but unfortunately for fight fans, Lauzon himself was injured and is now out of the fight:

Joe Lauzon (24-9 MMA, 11-6 UFC) is out of a lightweight meeting with Diego Sanchez (25-7 MMA, 14-7 UFC), a source close to the fighter confirmed. The source spoke on condition anonymity because he was not authorized to discuss the matter publicly.

The reason for Lauzon’s withdrawal is unclear, as the source declined to elaborate on why the fighter was forced to withdraw. There is no word yet on a possible replacement for Lauzon with the event less than a month away.
