One of the most controversial topics of 2009 in the world of MMA involved congenital amputee Kyle Maynard’s quest for success as a mixed martial artist.

Praised as a motivational hero by some and cursed as a freak show by others, Maynard nevertheless stepped in the cage for an August 2009 amateur bout, where he suffered a unanimous-decision loss.

Earlier this year, SnagFilms released a documentary chronicling Maynard’s journey. The film, titled “A Fighting Chance,” will now be featured on ESPN2.

“A Fighting Chance” premiers Monday, Nov. 8, at 7 p.m. ET/4 p.m. PT.
