For the past two years, Poland’s KSW has been introducing VR technology into the events. Now the pioneers are providing domestic journalists the chance to watch KSW 44 from the front row, without even leaving the house, using VR180.

VR180 is a new movie format for virtual reality developed by Google. KSW produces the VR180 content using the best camera on the market compatible with Google VR180 standards.

When watching a live event on TV, the viewer can only see what the producer allows. However, thanks to VR180 technology, the viewers are the ones who now decide which element of the venue, the cage, or the area around it they would like to see at any particular moment.

This will be the first professional stream of the type in Poland and one of the first in Europe. The image will be broadcasted in 4K, in 3D (Stereoscopic 3D, meaning that two cameras register left and right images for left and right eye. It won’t be a 3D effect generated by CGI).

Two wide-angle lenses, set at about 6.5cm apart, imitate the distance between the eyes and a human field of vision, what gives the viewer an extremely realistic, immersive representation of 3D depth.

KSW 44 takes place this Saturday, June 9 live from the Ergo Arena in Gdansk, Poland and is live around the world on KSWTV.coom and various television partners. The Mariusz Pudzianowksi vs. Karol Bedorf main event is five years in the making!

KSW has been nominated for Promotion of the Year by the World MMA Awards and the co-owners listed by Forbes as two of the most powerful men sport in Poland. An average of 1.3m people tuned in to watch KSW 43 on national TV in Poland making KSW one of the most-watched MMA shows in the world today.
