UFC strawweight Karolina Kowalkiewicz is undefeated at 10-0, and 3-0 in the UFC. Her latest win, a Split Decision over Rose Namajunas at UFC 201 on Saturday apparently earned her a title shot at champion Joanna Jedrzejczyk.

This fight has a backstory from a movie.

Kowalkiewicz, 30, is undefeated as a pro, but her last loss to was to Jedrzejczyk, when both were amateurs. Jedrzejczyk, 30, too is undefeated at 12-0, and 6-0 in the UFC. Both fighters hail from Poland. And Jedrzejczyk asked UFC president Dana White to give Kowalkiewicz a contract. Jedrzejczyk told White that Kowalkiewicz would earn her way to a title shot, and then lose to Joanna ‘Champion’ proving to the who the most powerful Pole is.

“I want the fight with Joanna,” said Kowalkiewicz said at the UFC 201 post-fight press conference, as transcribed by Shaun Al-Shatti for MMA Fighting. “I am ready for her. She said that I’m not on her level. I think that I am good enough to fight with her. I want a fight with her. Let’s do this. Polish power versus Polish power.”

“I think she’s scared. Just like that.”

And bringing it all together, White wants to make the fight in Poland.
