Josh Koscheck is injured, and out of his UFC 163 main card welterweight fight against Demian Maia at UFC 163 in Rio de Janeiro on Aug 3.

Details of Koscheck’s injury were not revealed.

There will be no replacement fight, so the entire card, barring further injuries, will now have 12 fights instead of 13.

Vinny Magalhaes vs. Anthony Perosh will likely move up from the prelims to the main card.

There is no word yet on whether the Koscheck vs. Maia fight will be postponed, if if new fights will be made for each. Kos is coming off two straight losses, to Johny Hendricks and Robbie Lawler. Maia is on a three fight win streak since dropping from 185 to 170, beating Dong Hyun Kim, Rick Story, and Jon Fitch. A win over Koscheck might have led to a welterweight title shot.
