ESPN reports that the long waited for grudge rematch between welterweights Josh Koscheck and Paul Daley scheduled for the big tent Bellator 158 on July 16 in London, England, will have to wait longer.
Koscheck has withdrawn again from his Bellator debut. No official reason for the withdrawal has been given as yet. His planned Bellator debut vs. Matt Secor on January 29 was likewise cancelled.? Kos has not fought in over a year, since going on a five-fight losing streak in the UFC.
Daley is on a five-fight winning streak in MMA, plus a kickboxing win at Bellator MMA: Dynamite 1 last September.
Former Bellator champion Douglas Lima will replace Koscheck vs. Daley in London.
Lima had been scheduled to fight Chidi Njokuani at Bellator 156 on June 17; Njokuani will now get a new opponent.
Bellator 158 was to be headlined by Kimbo Slice vs. James Thompson. Slice, real name Kevin Ferguson, passed away last night. There are bizarre but wholly unconfirmed reports that Ferguson’s son, Kevin “Baby Slice” Ferguson Jr.?, who is 1-0 in MMA, may be asked to fill in for his father in London.
