Bellator 148 on Jan. 29 at the Save Mart Center in Fresno, Calif. has a new main event after Josh Koscheck suffered an undisclosed injury, and is out of a scheduled fight vs. Matt Secor. Tristen Critchfield has the story, for Sherdog.
As a result, a welterweight clash between Paul Daley and Andy Uhrich will serve as the evening’s new main event, while the Chris Honeycutt-Paul Bradley rematch has been promoted to co-feature.
Secor is not expected to remain on the card.
It is believed that Koscheck and Daley were strategically placed on the same card in order to build toward an eventual rematch of their infamous UFC 113 battle. For now, it is unclear when Koscheck will make his Bellator debut.
Koscheck signed with Bellator MMA last year after a lengthy stint with the UFC. The 38-year-old exited the Las Vegas-based promotion on the heels of a five-fight losing streak. Kos owns notable victories over the likes of Matt Hughes, Anthony Johnson, Diego Sanchez, Chris Lytle and Daley, to name a few.
