Dustin Kimura is 1-1 in his young UFC career, and heading into his UFC Fight Night 34 bout with Jon Delos Reyes, he is an important bout to keep his UFC career going:
He’s probably, I would think, a little more nervous than he’s been (with the) bright lights in the UFC, Kimura said of Reyes, who’s won his past four on the regional circuit. I had that, the first-fight jitters. It takes a toll on you. But everyone handles it differently. Once he gets in there, it’s not going to matter. He’s there to fight … and so that’s all I’m thinking about.
This is the UFC. Everyone is tough. I’m here to welcome him.
Of course, it will be a non-verbal welcome. The soft-spoken Kimura isn’t the kind of fighter to give his mouth a workout before fight time.
I just want to fight and put somebody to sleep, he said.
