The main event of Bellator MMA 138, which took place on Friday, was a heavyweight fight between Kimbo Slice and the legendary Ken Shamrock.

For a brief moment, it appeared the 51-year-old Ken Shamrock (28-16-2 MMA, 0-1 BMMA) would pull off the upset over streetfighting legend Kevin Kimbo Slice Ferguson (5-2 MMA, 1-0 BMMA). Then, in an instant, everything changed.

In a back-and-forth matchup that was originally supposed to take place in 2008, Slice survived the early trouble to rebound for a first-round TKO victory.

The catchweight bout (Shamrock weighed in under the heavyweight limit at 204.4 pounds) headlined today’s Bellator 138 event, which took place at St. Louis’ Scottrade Center. The main card aired on Spike TV following prelims on MMAjunkie.
