At Glory 42 in 2017, a kickboxer scores KO then gets attacked by a butt-hurt fan after he scored a nasty knockout win.

Glory 42 featured a clash of welterweight contenders between Murthel Groenhart (65-23-3) and Harut Grigorian (53-11). Halfway through the second round of the bout, Groenhart landed a nice uppercut followed by a lovely flying switch knee. Instead of responding with a strike of his own, Grigorian had one of the oddest mental lapses you can imagine and started to walk to his corner as if the round was over. However, there were nearly three minutes left in the round.

Kickboxer scores KO then has to fight off unhappy fans

If that seems like an insane and stupid decision it’s because it is. Groenhart, without hesitating, seized the opportunity and followed his opponent to unleash a filthy right hand that hit the reset button on his opponent then and there.

It’s important to note that Groenhart’s victory was legal and not considered and shady action. It was a classic moment of needing to protect yourself at all times.

End of story, right? Well, not quite. The odd ending apparently triggered some angry fans in attendance who decided to storm the ring. Groenhart can be seen celebrating his victory as a fan runs towards him and looks to land a KO of his own. Obviously, he didn’t and the Dutch fighter did what his opponent didn’t and protected himself at all times.

Security quickly rushes in but it’s too late.
