KGB needs 6 months in UFC testing pool before fighting
Due to a failed test last year for diuretics, Andrea ‘KGB’ Lee has to stay in the USADA testing pool and pass two tests before she can fight in the UFC.

It was recently announced that the UFC had signed Invicta fighter and LFA women’s flyweight champion Andrea ‘KGB’ Lee. The mediagenic, Muay Thai based fighter fought four times in 2017, winning all of them. KGB was to fight Brazil’s Kalindra Faria at UFC 216: Ferguson vs. Lee on October 7. Faria is herself on a three-fight win streak, and coming off a win over Carina Damm for the Titan FC women’s bantamweight title.
Unfortunately, Lee tested positive for a prohibited diuretic administered by the Nevada State Athletic Commission around her fight with Sarah D’Alelio at Invicta FC 16 on March 11, 2016, and was suspended for nine months.
It is well known that athletes who leave the UFC and return have to enter the testing pool for six months before they become eligible to fight. In addition, athletes with a history of doping are likewise obligated.
5.7.4 A new or returning Athlete who admits or has an established and verifiable history of the Use, Attempted Use or Possession of a substance or method that is classified as prohibited at all times on the Prohibited List shall not be permitted to compete in UFC Bouts until he/she has made him/herself available for Testing for a minimum period of six months before competing. At USADA’s discretion, such Athletes may also be required to provide a minimum of two negative Samples during the minimum six-month notice period before being cleared for competition. This provision shall not apply in situations in which (i) the Athlete’s Use of the Prohibited Substance or Method was pursuant to a valid TUE or (ii) USADA subsequently grants the Athlete a TUE for the substance or method in question.
So Lee has to stay in the USADA testing pool and pass two tests before she can fight. The UFC reportedly hopes to keep Faria on the card, and is be searching for a replacement.
The Fighter released a statement via her social network.
