The main card for the Ultimate Fighting Championship’s first-ever event in Australia is set following the official addition of six bouts to the Feb. 21 fight card.
Headlining the pay-per-view event is a heavyweight bout between contenders Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira (32-5-1 MMA, 3-1 UFC) and Cain Velasquez (7-0 MMA, 5-0 UFC) and a middleweight co-main event of Michael Bisping (18-2 MMA, 9-2 UFC) vs. Wanderlei Silva (32-10-1 MMA, 2-5 UFC).
UFC 110 takes place at Acer Arena in Sydney, Australia.
Although the event takes place on a Sunday afternoon in Australia, the time difference means UFC 110 airs live in pay-per-view in its traditional Saturday-night timeslot.
Although six bouts were today announced via press release, the Nogueira vs. Velasquez and Bisping vs. Silva matchups were confirmed during this past weekend’s UFC 107 event.
Other bouts confirmed for the main card include lightweights Joe Stevenson (31-10 MMA, 8-4 UFC) vs. George Sotiropoulos (11-2 MMA, 4-0 UFC), light heavyweights Keith Jardine (14-6-1 MMA, 6-5 UFC) vs. Ryan Bader (10-0 MMA, 3-0 UFC), and heavyweights Ben Rothwell (30-7 MMA, 0-1 UFC) and Mirko “Cro Cop” Filipovic (25-7-2 MMA, 2-3 UFC).
A bout between light heavyweights Elvis Sinosic (8-11-2 MMA, 1-6 UFC) and fellow Australian Chris Haseman (20-16 MMA, 0-1 UFC) is also official for the night’s preliminary card.
