Kennedy predicts slippery wrestler Romero is going to gas and lose
Tim Kennedy: “The two likely occurrences are he’s going to gas and I’m going to finish him, or he’s going to gas and I’m going get a decision win.”
Jonathan Shrager reporting live on scene for The UnderGround Blog, spoke with the #6 ranked middleweight Tim Kennedy ahead of his fight Saturday night with #10 Yoel Romero, live on PPV.

Kennedy began with an honest description of how he feels.
“Hungry, thirsty, anxious – normal two days out type things,” he said.

Kennedy doesn’t see it that way, and in a refreshing change from the usual trash talk, praised Romero.
“Yoel, Jacare, and I, and Luke (Rockhold), we’re two, three, four, and five,” said Kennedy. “Whatever, rankings are rankings and I don’t have anything to do with them. (Romero) is way underrated. He’s way better than people give him credit for.”
Then Kennedy detailed how he is going to beat Romero, noting “he doesn’t want to be on the ground with me, and I don’t think he can take me down.”
“This is not a jiu-jitsu match, this is a fight. So good luck with your wrestling and trying to be slippery, because I am going to be on him for 15 minutes… The two likely occurrences are he’s going to gas and I’m going to finish him, or he’s going to gas and I’m going get a decision win. So that gives you a clue about my pace.”
