Ken Shamrock founded The Lion’s Den, one of the first super teams in the sport’s history. Former Lion’s Den star Guy Mezger now runs the Combat Sports Club in Houston, Texas. Shamrock has gone old school for his fight on Friday with Royce Gracie in the main event of Bellator 149. 

I went and trained with Guy Mezger, said Shamrock at today’s open workouts, as transcribed by MMAjunkie.

Further, his foster brother Frank Shamrock and he were estranged for many years, and spoke about fighting each other. However, the two have reconciled, and Ken will have his brother behind him in the fight.

Frank (Shamrock) is going to be in my corner,” he said. “I’m going to bring back the old-school Lion’s Den – that attitude, that edge.

When I walk in the ring, nothing else matters but putting the guy out of the fight.”
