Dave Herbert: Hey brother! Congrats on your win over Kikuno. That’s a tough fight for anyone, especially after such a long layoff. It was almost 2 years right?
Gesias ‘JZ’ Cavalcante: Thank you it was a good fight, I’m happy to be back, you know. It was almost to years I was out with an injury. It was hard, but now I’m healthy and feeling good. I have God to thank for that.
DH: You recently signed a contract with Strikeforce. Was this most recent fight for Dream under your new SF contract or a seperate one for Dream?
JZ: It was on a seprate contract for Dream. I signed a four fight deal with Strikeforce and I can fight for both, which I love.
DH: Your next fight should be wih Strikeforce, correct?
JZ: I think so.
DH: Have they thrown any opponents at you yet?
JZ: Nothing yet. I’m waiting for a date and an opponent.
DH: Josh Thomson or Lyle Beerbohm seem most likely for your first unless KJ Noons pulls out a victory against Jorge Gurgel. Anyone in particular you want?
JZ: I want to test myself against the good guys. Josh Thomson should be a good fight. KJ Noons, Melendez. I’m excited to fight them. I want to fight the guy who has the belt. I can knock anybody out. I just came back for my first victory, my first step. I just have to build my name up again to get the fights that i want.
