Justino begins march to Rousey at Invicta 15 in November

Cris ‘Cyborg’ Justino fights for Invicta FC as the league featherweight champion, but is signed with the UFC. The UFC intends to match her with UFC bantamweight Ronda Rousey, but first Cyborg has to demonstrate the ability to make the 135 cutoff, a long way from the 145 that she has struggled to reach in the past, albeit successfully.

Cyborg will take a 140 lbs. catchweight fight at Invicta FC 15 in November. Although the weight is set, the opponent is not, yet. The exact date in November is also TBA.

Invicta FC President Shannon Knapp announced the news at Saturday’s Invicta FC 14 post-fight press conference.

Cyborg has long discussed a change in weight class in order to compete against cuurent UFC women’s bantamweight champion Rousey. The Brazilian has dominated the competition outside the UFC and has not lost since her MMA debut in 2005.

Justino has attempted to convince Rousey to fight at 145 pounds or a catchweight of 140 due to the difficulty of the weight cut, but Rowdy has refused to budge on the notion of competing at anything but 135. She did, however, recently say her career would feel unfinished without a fight against Justino.
