Now MMAMania is reporting that the surgery was a success.
Cigano camp: Junior dos Santos knee surgery a success
Heavyweight champion Junior dos Santos went under the knife earlier today to repair a torn meniscus suffered while training for his fight against Cain Velasquez at UFC on FOX 1.
While JDS is on the mend, he’ll be tuning in to see who wins the upcoming fight between Brock Lesnar and Alistair Overeem, scheduled for Dec. 30 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
That’s because the winner of Lesnar vs. Overeem will get first crack at Dos Santos’ belt at some point in 2012, depending on the recovery process.
Tatame reports that coach also Luiz Carlos Dorea also confirmed that the operation went as planned.
The surgery was a success, thank God.”
