Ronda Rousey was the most dominant champion in mixed martial arts until she lost to Holly Holm. The division then came unglued. Holm lost her first title defense, to Miesha Tate. Then Tate lost her first title defense to Amanda Nunes, at UFC 200.

On the same card, a potential #1 contender fight between Julianna Pena and Cat Zingano was held. In the mean time, Rousey is fulfilling prior acting commitments, recovering from knee surgery, and taking a need break. During a recent interview, the new champion said if a fight with Rousey doesn’t happen, then Pena will do as a back up opponent.

A TMZ Sports stringer asked Pena what she thought about the comments.

“You know what, they can delay me but they can’t deny me,” began The Venezulan Vixen. “I’ve had my hand [raised] in the Octagon more than any other female out there. And no one deserves this title shot more than I do. So that’s how I feel about that.

“She knows she needs to fight me. All these girls know that they need to fight me. And I want my belt, so I’m not going to stop until I get it.”

“I think [Rousey] is going to come back before the end of the year. That’s what I’ve been told, that’s what I’ve heard. I’ll believe it when I see it. When she actually signs a contract, on the dotted line, then I’ll be more of a believer. They say she’s coming back, so we’ll see.”

“She’s like the emperor in no clothes. You know what I mean? She’s broken, a little bit. I just think that no one really cares about Ronda Rousey and her fat arms any more. But I guess some people do. So I guess Amanda Nunes is going to wait around for a title fight, and we’ll see how that goes.”

Trash talk is awesome, as it puts asses in seats and money in fighter’s pockets, but female fighters commenting about fat is uncalled for.
