UFC Fight Night 90 was a tremendous card, with six submissions, two T/KOs, and just four decisions, plus a title fight. But the best fight of the excellent night was Alan Jouban vs. Belal Muhammad, who threw down with thrilling abandon.
When crazy fights like that happen, afterwards fans get to sit back and watch some more. The fighters often head to the hospital.
Thursday night FOTN was followed by Derrick Lewis punching Roy Nelson? so hard a tooth went flying. The pair incidentally were fresh off their award winning roles trying to storm Castle Black astride mammoths. And then Eddie Alvarez took the title from RDA.
Jouban said immediately post-fight in cage that he thought he broke his hand in the second round. X-rays revealed he in fact broke it in two places. And remember, the hand in all likelihood broke landing on Muhammad’s head somewhere. So everybody hurt.
In positive news, both fighters earned an extra $50,000, providing some balance to the pain.
