Josh Barnett had not been licensed by California since he tested positive for a banned substance in 2009, which was his third failure to pass a drug test and cause the cancellation of his bout with Fedor Emelianenko for the now defunt Affliction promotion.

Barnett re-applied a year after the incident, but between missing a meeting and refusing to answer quesions, he was never reissued a license by California.

Today Josh Barnett met with the California State Athletic Commission to again apply for his license to compete as a professional mixed martial artist. That license has been granted, albeit dependent on some conditions:

-Barnett must be submit to ‘random biological fluid testing’ at a time and place determined by the CSAC
